Enrollment
Fall Session - Classes begin Tuesday September 4, 2007 and continue through May/June 2008. Upon enrollment there is a $25.00 non-refundable registration fee per student and the first month's tuition. Please see the Financial section for further information.
Summer Session and Summer Camps - Summer Information is currently available for Summer 2008. Classes and Camps will be held in June, July and August 2008.
Class Placement Students are evaluated on an individual basis. Placement in levels is made with each student’s best interest in mind. Most levels at Longwood Performing Arts are two year levels, unless advised by the instructor.
Attendance The importance of attending class on a regular basis cannot be stressed enough! Students learn and progress with consistent attendance. Students must complete 32 out of 40 classes (8 classes missed) to be considered for promotion.
Class Make-Up Policy When a student must miss a class due to illness, vacation, etc., it is your responsibility to make-up the class on your own. If there is not another class of the same level, you must take the next level lower. Please be aware that the studio bases its’ schedule and finances on a student’s commitment to the class and we cannot deduct for classes missed. Please notify the front desk when you are making up a class.
Code of Conduct Proper respect for the directors, faculty and staff is expected of the students and their families. Longwood Performing Arts reserves the right to suspend or dismiss any student whose attendance or conduct is found to be unsatisfactory.
Dress Code Please see the Class Description and Dress Code Section for specific dress requirements. All belongings should be labeled with the student’s name. Cover ups should be worn at all times outside of the studio. Do not wear dance shoes outside of the studio.
Pick-Up and Drop Off Please escort students in and out of the studio for safety reasons. Do not park in front of any studio entrances. Ample parking is provided around the building. The studio is not responsible to care for children who are not picked up on time. Please notify the front desk if you will be late.
Bulletin Boards and Newsletters Important studio notices and schedules including changes are posted on the bulletin boards in the lobby of the studio. Please check these bulletin boards regularly for new information. Newsletters will also be mailed to your home throughout the year. Withdrawals Please notify the studio immediately if a student discontinues attending Longwood Performing Arts. If we do not receive notification, we will continue to charge your account. You will be responsible for all tuition due up until the time of notification.
Inclement Weather In the event of inclement weather, please call the studio at (610) 444-6144 or check the website: www.LongwoodPerformingArts.com for closing information. Longwood Performing Arts does not follow the surrounding school districts’ closing recommendations. In the event of a class cancellation, students will be entitled to make-up the class. Please see class make-up policy for further information. No tuition adjustments will be made for missed classes due to inclement weather.
No Food or Drink in the Studios at any time!
